P2002 (DPF Efficiency) – Vauxhall CDTi strategy
Treat P2002 as a system fault. Fix the reason regen can’t complete.
What P2002 is really reporting
The ECU believes the DPF is not behaving as expected. That can be genuine soot loading, poor regen frequency, sensor bias, or upstream combustion issues.
High-yield checks
- Confirm DPF differential pressure sensor and pipework aren’t blocked/leaking.
- Check for EGR/boost faults that inhibit regen.
- Look at oil level/quality — excessive dilution can change regeneration logic.
Make it Vauxhall-specific
Start at the manufacturer hub to match the code to the engine family (EcoTEC petrol vs CDTi diesel) and the common platform patterns.
